Sugar Cookies

Ingredients:

Cookies:

  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 tsp.vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 1/2 flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Glaze Icing:

  • 1 1/2 cups icing sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. milk
  • 1/8 tsp. almond extract
  • 3 drops of food colouring

Directions:

Cookies:

  1. With electric mixture, beat sugar, butter, and vanilla until mixture is creamy. Scrape down the side of the bowl. Add eggs beating after each egg.
  2. In a separate bowl combine flour, baking powder, and alt. Beat the dry ingredients into the creamy mixture.
  3. Roll out dough on a lightly floured pan. Do not roll dough. Use cookie cutters of your choice for different shapes.
  4. Bake cookies at 350 degrees F. for 10 min or until the cookies turn a golden brown.

Icing:

  1. Combine icing sugar with milk to reach desired consistency. Stir in food colouring or leave it white.
  2. Using a pastry brush paint frosting over the cookies and decorate with whatever you like.
