Selena Gomez was born on July 22, 1992 in Grand Prairie Texas. She was named after Tejano singer Selena Quintanilla-Perez.

Selena Gomez had her first role as an actress on the well-known show Barney and Friends, alongside actor and singer Demi-Lovato. Selena also had different roles on Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over, Walker, Texas Ranger: Trial by Fire, and House Broken.

She moved to Los Angeles where she landed the role of Alex Russo on the hit Disney Channel show Wizards of Waverly Place. This role really projected her acting career as well as her singing career becuase the theme song of the show is sung by her.

In 2009, she released her first album, Selena Gomez and the Scene, which got to #9 on the billboard charts. Later she released two other albums with her band.

Then, in 2013 she released her next album called Stars Dance and the lead single Come and Get It became her first single on the top ten Billboard top 100.

Next in 2015, she released her second solo album, Revival, which got up to 200 on the billboard charts. Since all of this Selena has starred in multiple movies such as Neighbours 2: Sorority Rising, The fundamentals of caring, and Hotel Transylvania.
